Start date
The Founding Pilot Intake 2026 starts on 1 October 2026.
HOW IT WORKS
The Founding Pilot Intake 2026 is designed for practical people who want to learn how window and door repairs work in the real world. The programme combines technical theory, selected field-based learning, business guidance and FENIPAX workflow training, subject to product readiness.
Programme format
Windows and Doors Repairs Academy Galway is not planned as a full-time classroom course. The pilot intake is designed as a practical, small-group programme that can work around real repair jobs, customer permissions, safety conditions and participant availability.
The programme will run from October to December 2026 and will include a mix of:
Pilot facts
The Founding Pilot Intake 2026 starts on 1 October 2026.
The programme runs from October to December 2026.
The first intake is limited to 5 selected participants.
A mix of theory, field-based learning, workshops, business guidance and workflow training.
Field-based learning will usually involve one or two participants at a time.
Suitable participants who complete the required elements may receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Windows Repair Galway.
Expected pilot rhythm
The pilot intake is planned across October, November and December 2026. The exact schedule may vary depending on suitable jobs, weather, customer permissions and participant availability.
The programme begins with onboarding, safety expectations and an introduction to the Windows Repair Galway repair process. The first technical focus is expected to be glazing: glass units, measurements, failed units, basic diagnostics and replacement workflow.
The second stage focuses on common window and door repair work, including hinges, handles, locks, gaskets, alignment, draughts, drainage, multipoint locks and patio door issues.
The final stage brings the programme together with advanced diagnostics, repair vs replacement decisions, business basics, quotation structure, FENIPAX workflow training and completion review.
Field-based learning
A key part of the academy is learning how repair work happens in real conditions. Selected field-based training days may allow participants to observe and take part in suitable repair situations under supervision, depending on the type of job, safety conditions and customer permission.
How customer enquiries are assessed and what information is useful before a visit.
How repair jobs are inspected, how faults are explained and how measurements are recorded.
How parts are identified, quotations are prepared and repair decisions are made.
How follow-up, job notes and customer documentation are handled.
Not every repair job will be suitable for training. Windows Repair Galway will decide which jobs are appropriate for field-based learning based on safety, customer permission, access, time pressure, complexity and training value.
Small-group model
The first intake is intentionally limited to 5 selected participants. The goal is to keep the training practical, personal and manageable while the academy is being developed as a pilot programme.
A small intake allows more direct contact with the trainer.
Field-based learning works best when only one or two participants attend selected jobs at a time.
Places are offered after application review, not simply on a first-come-first-served basis.
The first intake is designed to test and refine the academy before future editions.
Participant schedule
Many people interested in retraining or adding a new trade may already have work or family commitments. The academy is planned to work through selected training days rather than requiring participants to attend a full-time classroom course every day.
Participants should still expect to make time available between October and December 2026. Some training activities may take place during weekdays because field-based learning depends on real repair jobs and customer appointments.
Before the programme starts
Selected participants will receive pre-course information before the first training session.
Applicants complete the application form and suitable applicants may be invited for a short call.
Selected applicants are offered a place in the Founding Pilot Intake 2026.
A deposit or confirmation process may be required after acceptance. Final payment terms will be confirmed separately.
Participants receive programme information, expectations and any safety requirements.
Depending on the type of field training, participants may need appropriate PPE, Safe Pass, Manual Handling or other safety preparation.
If FENIPAX is ready for the programme, training access or demo access may be prepared before the programme starts.
Safety rules
Field-based learning will only take place where the situation is suitable and safe. Participants must follow Windows Repair Galway instructions, site rules and safety requirements at all times.
Participants will not carry out unsupervised work as part of the academy.
No high-risk work unless specifically approved and safe.
No work at height unless specifically approved and suitable controls are in place.
Participants must follow instructions from Windows Repair Galway.
Appropriate PPE may be required, and Safe Pass or Manual Handling may be required for some field training days.
Customer permission is required before participants attend a job, and some jobs may be excluded from training due to risk, complexity or customer sensitivity.
Final safety requirements will be confirmed before the programme starts. The academy may require participants to provide evidence of Safe Pass, Manual Handling, PPE or other preparation depending on the final training format.
Customer permission
Because the academy may include selected real repair examples, customer permission is essential. Not every customer, property or repair job will be suitable for training.
FENIPAX workflow training
FENIPAX is being built to help window and door contractors organise inspections, quotations, warehouse activity and orders from one clear workflow. The academy is planned to introduce participants to how a professional repair business can use structured information to manage jobs more effectively.
FENIPAX is currently in development. Access for academy participants is planned as part of the pilot programme, subject to product readiness before the programme starts.
Customer details, notes, photos and measurements.
Structured pricing, job descriptions and customer-ready outputs.
Parts lists, materials planning and order information.
Completion notes, customer records and next steps.
Completion
Participants who complete the required elements of the programme may receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Windows Repair Galway.
