Who may be a good fit

The Academy is designed for people who want to learn through practical exposure, observation, guided tasks and real repair-business thinking.

Practical learners

People who prefer hands-on learning, are comfortable around tools and want to understand how window and door repair work is assessed, priced and carried out.

Tradespeople and maintenance workers

People with experience in maintenance, carpentry, glazing, facilities work, construction, property care or related practical roles who want to add a repair-focused skill set.

Career changers

People exploring a move into repair, maintenance or service work who want a realistic introduction before committing to a bigger career or business decision.

Future small-business operators

People who may one day want to run a small repair or maintenance business and want to understand quoting, customer communication, workflow and practical service delivery.

Reliable field-based participants

People who can attend consistently, follow safety instructions, communicate clearly and treat the pilot programme as a serious practical learning opportunity.

This may suit you if

  • You want practical exposure rather than classroom-only theory.
  • You are interested in windows, doors, glazing, hardware, maintenance and repair workflows.
  • You are willing to learn slowly, safely and carefully.
  • You can take feedback and follow instructions.
  • You understand that this is a small pilot intake with only 5 selected participants.
  • You are available for the October — December 2026 programme period.
  • You are comfortable completing an application before being considered.

This may not be right for you if

This programme is intentionally practical, selective and limited. It is not designed for every applicant.

  • You need a public awarding-body qualification.
  • You need a promised job outcome from the programme.
  • You need a promised earnings outcome from the programme.
  • You need a promised subcontracting arrangement from the programme.
  • You are looking for classroom-only study with no field-based learning.
  • You are not available during the October — December 2026 pilot period.
  • You are not comfortable with practical work, safety expectations or changing field conditions.

Programme boundaries

Important boundaries

The Academy is a private training programme created by Windows Repair Galway. It is not a public awarding-body qualification. The Certificate of Completion confirms participation in, and completion of, the Windows Repair Galway programme only.

The programme does not promise employment, earnings, subcontracting, future work or commercial results. Any future collaboration with Windows Repair Galway would be considered separately and is not part of the programme offer.
